Your tote bag will be completely unique because of the block printing process I use to create it.
First, I draw the image onto a rubber block.
Next, I carve out all the negative space to leave the image that I want transfered (basically, it's a big stamp).
Then, I roll ink onto the stamp and I very, very carefully press it into the fabric.
Finally, it undergoes a drying and curing process to ensure inkpermanance.
This process results in a one-of-a-kind print every time.
Care: To prolong the life of your bag, I recommend washing it in cold or warm water and hanging it to dry or using low tumble.
The Story Behind The Illustration
I've come to love nearly every aspect of New Mexico geography. Just when I think I've seen it all, something new catches my attention.
This design is a celebration of New Mexico's features, especially those seen from Albuquerque. You'll see the Sandia mountain range, the rolling foothills, the desert, mesas, the Three Sisters volcanoes, the bosque and the Rio Grande.
It's a simplified version of the spectacular places that I love to explore.
